Need advice for getting out tangles from long hair?
My daughter has very long hair, and it gets tangled pretty easily - very fine
and naturally curly. I've learned tricks to help us cope with those tangles.
We wash it every 2-3 days or else it gets worse and worse every time she sleeps.
If she gets it dirty or goes in the swimming pool we need to wash it clean before
just leaving it. I usually braid her hair, especially when doing activities that
will get it out of control. People love her long braids! When we wash, I use
Exuberance conditioner
on her hair, letting it sit for about 3 minutes and then
having her slightly rinse it out (not rinsed all the way out). When working out the
tangles, it's easier to use a fairly stiff brush, not a comb. Take a SMALL section
and start brushing at the bottom. Work out the bigger tangles by hand, separating
individually. Then set aside the section and get another small section. If you
choose to braid, do the braiding when wet - it's easier. You can even just place a
dab of the conditioner on the hair and leave it in while combing or brushing.
