Learn how to be young again - in mood and spirit, in looks. For mood, try laughing more, enjoy life and appreciate all the little things - try not to stress out. Instead of getting aggravated by sitting in traffic, try to look at the colors of the trees, the birds flying, or listen to music that is soothing. Listen to song lyrics for a change - most of the time people just sing them without thinking. Go to church (and if one doesn't feel right, shop around until you feel connected).

Many common products (and "specialty lines" of products) contain ingredients which may cause premature aging of your skin. The ingredients are full of "fillers" that are cheap and can even cause harm, plus clog your pores. You should use only the best ingredients - to keep from getting wrinkles early, and to keep healthy with no toxic effects.

Keep or regain your youthful look! Did you know the top two reasons people get wrinkles early? One is smoking - so stop smoking if you do. The other is sun exposure - you should use sunscreen or shield your face - the sun ages your skin if you aren't careful about exposure. Exposure to the sun can make your skin leathery and wrinkle faster (same goes for tanning salons) - forget the tan and have healthy, youthful skin. 15-20 minutes in the sun at a time should be the max without a sunscreen. Stay out of the sun between peak times of 10 am - 2 pm.

Youth tip: even washing your face with plain water is better for the skin than using chemicals, alcohol, soap, etc.

You should use ingredients which help rejuvinate your skin, not strip it of oils and block your pores. Wrinkles can be made less apparent, and slowed down by the use of healthy products. Don't accelerate the aging process by using harmful products - retain your youth. Use only SAFE, health-conscious, non-toxic products.

Use a retinol based product on your face, neck and chest, to help the youthful appearance and minimize wrinkles. I use a retinol serum, day and night creams daily. I am often told I don't look my age. I believe the retinol helps my skin look more youthful. Night time is the best time to apply it, though - if you spend time outside. Sun exposure to retinol breaks it down. Use it primarily at night, unless you stay inside. Retinol stimulates the production of new skin cells. That's why it helps with wrinkles. Below are retinol products that can help you.

Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM Overnight Resurfacing Pads - 30pads

Sun Care - Use a sunscreen without toxic ingredients - get a nice tan appearance safely without the sun exposure. Always use a SPF 25 or higher sunscreen (though there is little extra prostection from this point higher, mainly higher price), and at least an SPF 10 on your lips - use lip balm with sunscreen for lip protection for both the sun and daily use. Don't risk skin cancer by exposing your skin to the intensity of the sun without protection.

Safe Cosmetics & Nail Care - Do you know what is in the make-up you normally use? There are toxins and harsh ingredients that can cause harm and may age you faster. Have you ever thought about why doctors don't want you to use nail polish while you are pregnant? Shouldn't that tell you something? What about people who've ruined their eyesight from using mascara which falls off the eyelashes and into the eyes? The industry is unregulated and some ingredients in cosmetics can be dangerous. Do your homework and find a safe alternative.

How to Keep Your Skin Young and Wrinkle-Free

Your skin can age faster than you want if you treat it badly – find out how to stay young looking longer and how to keep from getting wrinkles prematurely. Below are several things you should do on a daily basis.

Drink lots of water – it will wash out impurities and help keep your skin smooth and healthy – which will keep it youthful looking longer.

Protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun. The more exposure you have, the more wrinkles you get, and the more leathery your skin becomes. Use proper sun protection – hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, protective clothes. Don't get too much sun exposure – a tan isn't worth it in lieu of younger skin.

Be gentle with toxins and useless fillers in your personal care products – many use petroleum by-products as fillers, or ingredients that suffocate the skin, or worse. Check the ingredients listings for potentially harmful ingredients and use better products.

Be careful about cosmetics – there are toxins in many of the cosmetics you buy. There has been research done and many bad effects have been found. Some mascara can even be harmful to eyes! You should see the report Senator Kennedy wrote on the unregulated industry.

Use gentle cleansers on your face – water alone may be the best choice, if you don't have a good cleanser. You do not want to strip away all the oils on your skin, but you also do not want to leave dirt on it. You should use a gentle cleanser at least once a day.

Eat healthy – and stay away from processed foods and such – which can often bring on pimples and other problems. Try to eat more fresh vegetables and unprocessed foods.

If you do all the above, you are sure to keep from aging faster than normal. If you do not take heed, you will certainly cause faster aging and wrinkling.
