Frozen Orange Juice or Other Frozen Fruit Juice Made Easier

I see people having a hard time mixing the frozen fruit juice from the canisters. I have two solutions that work very well, and don’t involve a sloppy un-thawed mass stirring around.

One of my easy ways is to put the frozen orange juice glob from the can into a pitcher. I fill up the can with water and only put some of the water in the pitcher, maybe 1/3 of the can. I work the frozen fruit juice mixture with a wooden spoon until loosened and less thick. Then I add a bit more water, and mix that in, over and over until it is uniform and looser (like when making gravy). I add the water with as many cans as instructions tell me to. Once it’s a loose mix, you can add more water at a time.

The second method is to leave the frozen orange can in the refrigerator overnight, letting it defrost. In the morning, I take an amount of liquid juice in a glass, and I mix the appropriate amount of water – 4 to 1, or 3 to 1 as per the instructions. I put the rest of the concentrated juice into a glass jar and back into the refrigerator. It’s ready to mix up as needed – just make sure you use it within a week. You can, instead, mix the entire un-frozen fruit juice concentrate can with water as per the instructions for a pitcher.

I haven’t had to deal with a frozen blob in years and have helped other people figure how to make life easier.
