Do Your Shorts Bottoms Flip Up or Do They Have Hem Folds You Don’t Want? Want flat shorts hems?
After years of trying to iron errant folds out of shorts, I figured out a way to use pants or skirts hangers to make the hems look nice and save time! Shorts hems that came out of the dryer were always flipped up on the hem or had set-in hem folds that were difficult to iron out. You can get flat pants hems the same way.
Pull Your Shorts (or Pants) Out From the Dryer a Bit Early (earlier next time if no good result)
After washing your laundry, put it into the dryer. Before your shorts get completely dry, finish drying them by hanging, with the hems flat. Grab the hems and stretch them taut and flatten them as you secure them. Put the hems in a pants or skirt hanger – preferably with flat holders. Let them finish drying by hanging the pants hanger on a rack. This works for pants cuffs and bottoms too – I have to do it for jeans with to narrow a bottom hem because they flip up all the time.
Proudly Wear Your Shorts
By hanging them this way, your shorts and pants will look crisp and folded, with flat shorts hems. Be proud to have hems that aren’t flipped up or have set-in hem folds. I showed this to friends and they shared it to others. It certainly beats ironing!
